Today is the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. Wish I was there for the celebrations and everyone I worked with is still there :(

Florida Bucket List

As I mentioned in my previous post I have less than 2 weeks left so I thought I'd compose a list of things I have yet to do here!

Parents Visit

Had such a lovely time while the parents were visiting! Mum made us visit Magic Kingdom 4 times out of the 6 days we had in the parks, it was safe to say that it is still her favourite park! My step dad loved Epcot, maybe for the fact that you could get drunk while visiting! We did lots of shopping and I got 20 bikini's in Victoria Secrets (which is now my new favourite shop!). Wish they could of stayed longer as we didn't have time to do Universal!

Got a lot of time off this week so planning many nights out as I have yet to visit downtown Orlando. Also need to seriously start topping up my tan as it is already starting to fade! Also started to work in normal rotation and loving it! So glad I actually LOVE my job, lots of English people over here on the same program as me aren't enjoying themselves that much and quite a few have gone home, I'm just luky I'm having the time of my life! :)

Passed With Flying Colours!

Finished all my training this week and had my assessment today, which I passed with Flying Colours! My trainer Phillip Heller in Tomorrowland was the greatest teacher I've ever had anyone who is assigned with him will do wonderfully! Tomorrow I start my first full day without supervision and hopefully will go smoothly!

My parents arrived this weekend and spent the day in Magic Kingdom on Saturday before my shift it was the first time my Step Dad had been in a Disney park EVER so he really had a good time! This week we are planning to go Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Universal which should be fun even thought I can't go to Harry Potter world yet as my friend Ciara would kill me if I went there without her! 

Also want to make sure I finally go to the Florida Malls soon as I hear they are great and I'm in serious need of some retail therapy. Although everytime I enter a Disney merchandise shop (which is ALOT!) I can never leave without a purchase so I think I have filled a case which Disney stuff so far!! Also going to go on the Party bus to downtown Orlando soon which should be fun!

Magic Kingdom

I haven't yet been to Epcot, but I think its safe to say that the Magic Kingdom is still my favourite park! I haven't quite decided what Magic Kingdom is the best out of the 3 that I've been to (Florida, Califonia & Paris) but you can't beat it. Space Mountain is definitely best in Paris but the Alice in Wonderland attractions are better in California & Paris. But you can't beat the Castle in Florida. So glad that I finally went on Splash Mountain and it was brilliant, can't wait to take the parents on it when they get out here in 2 weeks! Met a few characters this week including my good friend Minnie! Can't wait until my next paycheck so I can finally go crazy in the gift shops and the mall! Bad news is I'm having my wisdom tooth out tomorrow :(

Disney Traditions & First Day In The Magic Kingdom!

Well its been a couple of busy days, barely had any sleep or spoken to anyone!   Started out in Disney Traditions yesterday afternoon and can't give too much away but it was so much fun learning even more about the company and Walt's legacy (although I know quite a lot already!). Our table/ team won the most of the prizes in the class and generally all had a great time exploring the Disney University which is filled with old memorabilia and a gift shop! 


After traditions we headed into the Magic Kingdom had a chilli cheese hot dog from Casey's on Main Street USA, then headed over to Tomorrowland (which I found out where I would be working) and went on Monsters Inc, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain and the People Mover. During all the there was a huge downpour of rain and hail as well as thunder and lighting so we thought it would be the perfect setting for the Haunted Mansion which is still one of my favourite rides! End of the day we went to the castle to see the new light/ projection show; Memories which was the best thing I have ever seen! It was amazing! Just in case none of you are planning a trip to Florida before October, don't watch it otherwise as it'll ruin the surprise, you can watch it here!

Then today was our first official day as Cast Members of Walt Disney World (the Magic Kingdom, to be precise) and we got to tour the Magic Kingdom before any of the guests were allowed in and found out some really interesting facts about the park (included on a later blog). Then I got taken over to Tomorrowland to get accustomed with my new home! I found out I would be operating the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (which is hilarious!) Buzz Lightyear, The Carousel of progress and Space Mountain! All in all, had a fantastic day but my feet are killing me!
