Happy Halloween Everyone

Wishing I was celebrating at Disney of course, they have the best celebrations!  2 years ago I was at Disneyland Paris for Halloween and the decorations were amazing!

Walt Disney World Opening

Found this great video of the opening of the TV special that was aired to promote Walt Disney World in 1971. Of course its lovely and cheesy and with lots of musical numbers! I love how the park still looks the same from the start and hopefully will stay that way for future generations! Enjoy!

Operation Present

Had to go back home last week as I needed to have my wisdom tooth out, it was coming in the wrong way and gave me trouble all Summer while I was working at Disney! It was finally time to have it out and luckily was able to have it out at hospital as I am petrified of dentists! So I was completely knocked out, had stitches and felt terrible for the next week! The plus side I was waited on hand and foot by my Mum and she got me a lovely "get well soon" present! It was the Jim Shore tradition Alice that I had my eye on which was on the Disney website, Thanks Mum!

Q&A

Since I started this blog, around a year ago now, I've had a few emails, messages and comments from people wanting to know about my experience working at Walt Disney World. Usually its, how did I get the job or what's like to work there. I love getting these as I love giving advice about it! I remember when I applied just over a year ago and I had so many question and I would read blogs similar to mine to find out everything there was to know, so if anyone else has any questions please feel free to message, comment or email me with any of them as I would love to help!

Disney Presentation

Yummy Jobs (the UK Disney Recruitment company) came to my University this week to recruit for the next Summer Program and also the Year Academic Program. I wanted to go along as I wanted to learn more about the year program, I'm glad I went as it made me apply for the year program! You get to study with The University of Central Michigan in a variety of courses (which include Disney based courses!) and work on property as well. I really want to do Guest Services, Concierge or Front Desk as they sounded the most exciting! I hear about my phone interview this week so will keep updating!

Disney Shanghai

While I was in Florida it was announced that there was to be a new Disney park in Shanghai and it looks amazing! I've been reading up on the blogs here and here, I really want to go when its open but there's still Hong Kong & Tokyo to see first! Ithink out of the two I want to see Tokyo first, only because its a much bigger park, with a water based park!! Take me now!

Happy Birthday Mary Blair!

Walt's Favourite animator and artist was Mary Blair who was known for creating the concept art to some of the Disney classics Peter Pan, Cinderella and of course, my favourite, Alice In Wonderland! She was also the person Walt went to when designing Its A Small World Attraction in the parks! I loved her sketchy, whimsical and child like style of drawing and have my favourites that I want copies of when I get my own place! (Look for some ideas for presents below Mum!) I found some great articles on her here and here! so please read them as well!
