Getting Ready For Disneyland Paris!

Starting to pack for my last minute trip to Disneyland Paris! Just checked the weather forecast and lets just say I'm glad I brought some rain ponchos back with me from Florida! Very exciting to see the Christmas parade and New Years fireworks as this is the only time of year when you can see them. Also want to see the park and what is new for my birthday trip in March/ April.

Decided to have my nails themed for the occasion (photo below) but will definitely be dressed warm and comfortable for the 15 hour day. Very glad I have no baggage allowance as I'm looking forward to some much needed Disney merchandise shopping!

So Excited!

Just been surprised with a trip to Disneyland Paris for New Years Eve! Thats right, I get to watch the amazing New Years Eve fireworks outside Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland Paris! My friend Ciara and I are off to a short trip to Paris first for a quick tour then off to Disney for the day on the 31st, so thats 15 hours to run free in the Disneyland Park and Walt Disney's Studios Park! Of course I've already started making a plan for the day as they'll be so much to fit in and theres special things planned for that specific day with it being New Years Eve!

May have to start packing soon as we leave in just 2 days but very excited to be in a Disney park again! My Mum just informed me that this will be the 3rd Disney Park I've been to this year (California in April, Florida in the Summer for 4 months and now Paris) so just Tokyo and Hong Kong to do soon!

Christmas

Been home around a week now and getting ready for Christmas! Spent 3 days at a spa with my friend Ciara which was lovely as it gave us some much needed time to relax! As soon as I go back I got ill and have been in bed since, probably just a normal cold/ flu but it feels like I'm on my deathbed. So have been spending my days working through Disney/ Pixar films to make me feel better!

My friends that are still on the college program keep posting photo's of the parks in all their christmas decorations and I want to go back so badly! So excited for my trip to Disneyland Paris in March/ April but has got me started thinking about trips for next year! Think I may be asking too much to go back to America next year, so thats definitely on the list for 2013. So I'm thinking some nice extended trips to Spain, Italy & France. Hopefully try and get some work out there so I can stay for a while longer, but I also have some weddings that I've been invited to in June and September so I have to be back for those! Only a few days left for some Christmas shopping, but head over to www.disneystore.co.uk for some last minute deals!

Disney Year Long Placement

After careful consideration and thought I have decided not to go to Disney for the year long academic program. There a few reasons I have decided this, for one I don't think I could ever top my summer program! I made so many great friends and memories and I don't want to compare it. I am on an event management course and unfortunately Disney doesn't offer a placement in events, which I ultimately want to go into. I have found some other placements opportunities which I feel may benefit my career more but I still LOVE Disney!

Its my ultimate dream to work for Disneyland Paris one day, I'll have to revisit the French language! So hopefully in future I may be able to work on their events team! But until then I've been applying for some great events/ hospitality placements so hopefully I'll get them too!

Yay, All Booked!

Mum just rang me to say she's gone ahead and booked Disneyland Paris for my birthday trip! My mum, step dad & I are going for 4 days from the last Thursday in March. We are going to be staying at the Sequoia Lodge, which I've never stayed in before but looks lovely and I've put some pictures below. We managed to get a great deal by booking through the link I posted about here!

My step dad only went to a Disney park for the first time this summer, to come visit me in Florida and my Mum hasn't been to Disneyland Paris in years! So much planning to do and something to look forward to! I haven't been to Disneyland Paris in a couple of years but will be so much fun going to park after I've worked in! I'll try my best not to compare as I love each location differently and DLP has the Alice in wonderland maze which isn't at any other park!

There seems to be a lot thats new for next year as its their 20th anniversary! New parade, new lights shows, new meet and greets! I'm so excited!!!! Check out the new online brochure here!

Disneyland Paris

Can't wait until I go to Disneyland Paris for my next birthday in April! We have yet to book as need to see my University term dates but will probably be the first week. Now for everyone else that wants to go you need to go here as they  are doing a huge sale if you book in the next couple of days and arrive before the end of March! So go book now for some nice savings!

Nearly finished my 2 group presentation for Uni, so that just leaves an essay and a half left to do! Just over 2 weeks until I go home to Essex for Christmas, so excited but really need to start doing some gift shopping!

Disney Parks Background Music

As we all know when it comes to Disney parks, every detail is thought out with precision! What I love most (and notice everywhere) is the background music, its differentiates between the lands and parks to tie in with the theme. While working in Tomorrowland I would always hear the music but not always notice it as its made to blend. I was watching some video's on youtube and realised how much I missed having background music in everyday life! So i found a website which has all the background music from all the parks to listen to here!. Sad, I know but it makes me feel like I'm there again! Any excuse to talk about Disney!

Disney Video Games

Some may not know I love video games! Pc, Wii & Nintendo 3ds games to be exact. It may be childish but I love the Disney games for these my favourite being Epic Mickey for Wii which I did a whole post about here! The first one I want to discuss is Disney Universe for Wii (which I've already asked Mum to get me for christmas!). It looks really good, hopefully will be able to connect online to play against other gamers! You dress up as your favourite character and battle in disney themed worlds, check out the trailer.

Next is the new Disney game released for xbox360 (which I don't have!) it looks INCREDIBLE! Tempted to just buy a xbox just for this game! You basically walk around Disneyland (California park) and go on the rides, meet the characters, collect things and just basically be in the park! I can't wait to have a go on this! Take a look at the demo from D23

November

With the end of November fastly approaching I was thinking how much I've done this month! With all the placement meetings and interviews for Disney, Canada and South Carolina! Also been trying to do all my essays and reports for class so I can leave Manchester early to spend more time in Essex over the christmas period. My lovely friend Ciara (who came travelling with me at the end of the Disney Summer program) has booked us in for a 2 night spa stay with treatments! So excited and the place looks amazing you can see it here, its called the Lighthouse spa in Thorpe le soken (which is very close to my house!). Will be really nice to relax and spend some time with one of the besties again!

We are also planning a shopping trip to Westfield shopping centre in London which looks incredible as it has a Forever 21 and a Wagamama along with all my other favourite stores! Still need to book Disneyland Paris for my birthday trip, which I'm very excited about as just found out their new parade should be there by then!

Happy 100th Post!

100 blog posts! Can't imagine what I've been rambling about in all those posts but here we are. Big thank you to my followers and people who message/ email. I used to think only my Mum and friends read this while I was out of the country but I get a lot more page views per day than that so thank you everyone! I love this blog as its an escape for everyday life and where I can talk about my favourite subject (Disney, of course) and not bore my friends to death! Also I'm loving my Tumblr as I get to post even more photos! To the next 100 posts!

Face To Face Interview

Had my face to face interview at Newcastle this year, hadn't been there before and didn't realise how far north it was! Mum was kind enough to book my a hotel the night before as otherwise I would of have to of left at 4.30am! Was very similar to last year, quick presentation from the lovely people from Florida about the whole program. Jill, the recruiter, asked me lots of questions through the presentation as I had been there before and also spoke to a lot of other applicants as they had loads of question too! After that they scheduled my interview for 12.50pm so had time to get a coffee and speak to more people who had applied. It seems there was a lot more applicants this year which made me more nervous!

The interview itself went well, Jill was lovely and asked very general questions of why I wanted t go back and what I expected to gain. Also she had my report card from this year and was nice to hear that my manager had approved me for rehire! Now here comes the waiting game again as we have 3 more weeks until I hear back! Have also been looking at other placements incase Disney doesn't rehire me! Found some great ones in Canada and also off the coast of South Carolina in the states; which is only a 5 hour drive to Orlando!

Countdown To Christmas

Well now that Halloween is gone that means Christmas is soon! I love Christmas as I get to lay around, eat lots of good food, spend time with my family and get loads of presents! I get home from University around half way through December so I have plenty of time to relax and go shopping. I thought I'd compile a list of things that I have my eye on for Christmas!

Alexander Wang Studded Bag

Hermes Collier Belt
Trip back to Walt Disney World Florida
Trip back to Las Vegas
Disney Dooney & Burke bag
Disney Couture Bracelet

There's a few more I'll be adding to the list like some more Jim Shore Traditions statues among other things but this can be a start (hint hint Mum!)

Another Phone Interview

Had my phone interview today with Yummy Jobs for the year placement at Walt Disney World Florida! The program is study based which means I would primarily focus on studying then still work at Disney! I was a bit nervous about the interview and the whole process this time round as I have done a program wit Disney before and have spoken to many others that are applying again and have been rejected as they want more new people to experience it. But I got the email saying I have made it through to face to face interviews on Tuesday (short notice!!) in Newcastle but of course I'll be going.

Once again, a little nervous as this will be my second program but luckily as its slightly different hopefully they'll accept me! Been looking at the courses that they offer and my favourites would be Marketing, Guest Services and Disney Heritage. I mean how many chances do you get to study Disney's history! Anyway, wish me luck and I'll let you know how I get on at after the interview tuesday!
